Silay City Description
Silay City is a 2nd class city in the province of Negros Occidental, Philippines. Silay City is the “Seat of arts, culture and eco-tourism in Western Visayas”. The Department of Tourism identified Silay City as one of the 25 major tourist destinations in the country. Silay city is a picture of dynamism and progress. It is a city where the link to the past harmoniously merges with the development of the future.

Silay City has a variety collection of steam locomotives, rich cultural heritage, flavorful hometown delicacies, untamed forest. Silay City has often been referred to as the “Paris of Negros” due to its large collection of perfectly preserved heritage houses. Silay City boasts of more than thirty of well preserved houses that have been declared as historical landmarks. Silay is the second Philippine city to have been declared a museum city, next to Vigan City. It has a sizable commercial and fishing port and is the site of the new Bacolod-Silay CityInternational Airport, which will replace the Bacolod City Domestic Airport. Silay

Silay City is located at the northwestern part of Negros Island. It is 14 kilometers north of Bacolod City, the capital of Negros Occidental.
