Samal City Description

Samal City is also known as the Island Garden City of Samal or IGaCoS. Samal City is a 5th class city in the province of Davao del Norte, Philippines.

Samal City is haven for people who seek new adventure and new experience of enjoying the beaches and the natural resources. In March 3, 2008, a Hawks Bill Turtle was reported stranded at the breakwater near the Fernandez Beach Resort at PeƱaplata, Samal District at around 6:00 pm. Conservationist Jim Kennedy said the world’s biggest colony of fruit bats flying out of their roosting caves are on the Island Garden City of Samal.

Samal City Attractions

The island has various white sand beaches such as the Pearl Farm where one can truly enjoy swimming, diving, and fishing. Some of the Island resorts have complete luxurious facilities complete with a casino for all Island visitors

The famous Balibali Resort is located at the southwest coastline of the Island Garden City of Samal. Punta del Sol beach resort a few kilometers off PeƱaplata at the Island Garden city of Samal (Igacos).
