Las Pinas City Attractions

Las Pinas City was made famous by a bamboo organ. A centuries-old instrument in Las Pinas City, this was installed by Fr. Diego Cera – a Spanish parish priest – in 1832. Measuring 5.17 meters tall, 4.17 meters wide and 1.45 meters deep, this bamboo organ has a total of 1,031 pipes, 902 of which are bamboo. Made from hundreds of bamboo poles buried in and for a year, these poles were also treated by salt water to preserve and protect it from termites. The organ can be seen at St. Joseph’s Church in Las Pinas City.

Las Pinas City officials sought to restore and preserve old historical and cultural landmarks in 1995 – the Las Pinas Church and Bamboo Organ, Las Pinas Bridge, the Fr. Diego Cera Bridg, the Old District Hospital, and the Asinan Area.

Also a sight to see, the Las Pinas Nature Church lies on a 4000 square meter mango orchard. Architecture of this church in Las Pinas City was designed by one of the country’s noted architects Bobby Mañosa. At the back of the altar is a chapel where devotees religiously make their daily 24-hour vigil to the exposed Blessed Sacrament.

Sarao Motors Factory – a pride of Las Piñas City – is where the world-famous jeepney is assembled piece by piece in painstaking individual production. This factory in Las Pinas City remains open to buyers and curious visitors all year round.

Las Pinas City sits at the National Capital Region of the Philippines. Las Pinas City is bounded by Parañaque City on its north and northeast side, Muntinlupa City on the east and southeast, Imus Cavite on the south side, Bacoor Cavite on the southwest and west side, and Manila Bay on the northwest.
