Himamaylan City Description

Himamaylan City sits on a coast. Himamaylan City is the first and only city in the 5th District of Negros Occidental. Himamaylan City has rich resources of fish, oysters and mussels. Having its land area proportioned to both agricultural and industrial purposes, Himamaylan City is surfacing as a center for trade and economic activity. Most of Himamaylan City’s area is flat with fertile soil, therefore conducive for residential communities, ideal for good road building and infrastructure, and suited for farming.

Himamaylan City has a natural harbor characterized by deep waters for easy access to marine vessels. Raging rivers at least 12 feet deep lead from the city and drains to the sea.

The city boasts of 12 feet or deeper rivers which provide easy to drainage for industrial estates and urban development.

Himamaylan City Location

A city at the center-most cove of Negros by the coastline of Negros Island, Himamaylan is less than two hours 83 km drive south of Bacolod City. Public utility vehicles plying the southern Negros route pass by this new city.
