Gapan City Description

Gapan City, a major rice producer, forms part of the so-called “Rice Granary of the Philippines”. Culture and tradition in Gapan City interests travelers with its many religious practices dating back to Spanish occupation. Gapan City also produces vegetables like pechay, carrots, radish, cabbage, onions, eggplants and cauliflower. On the industry aspect of Gapan City, slipper making is its biggest enterprise.

Gapan City Attractions

Gapan City shows a unique character revealed by the number of old buildings in the area. Gapan City Church with its Byzantine architecture  is the biggest and oldest structure of its kind in the province.

Festivities thrive in Gapan City, its residents celebrating at least three fiestas annually. Catch Three Kings every January 6, Divina Pastora every May 1 and the City Founding Anniversary every 25th of August. Gapan City assembles pilgrims from neighboring places during the city’s Three Kings and Divina Pastora commemoration.

Gapan City Location

Gapan City is located in the southern part of the province of Nueva Ecija. Bound on the north by Peñaranda and San Leonardo, Gapan City is bound to the east by the General Tinio, to the south by San Miguel, and to the west by San Isidro.

From Manila, Gapan City lies 96 kms away, 19 kms from Cabanatuan City and 45 kms from San Fernando. Being landlocked, Gapan City is easily accessible through roads that weave in and out of the city.
